Arsenal reached Wembley in their third season in the League Cup, facing a team who would become their closest rivals over the ensuing five years. It was Wembley heartbreak, Arsenal succumbing to their first defeat to Leeds United in a cup competition. To this day, The Peacocks have not beaten Arsenal outside of London, winning just three of the ties. Two of them have been at Wembley.
