A decisive day in the title race during the 1933/34 season. Arsenal had ceded first place in the First Division to Huddersfield Town with a draw against Stoke City at The Victoria Ground in their previous game. This win meant that they would return to the top spot albeit on seemingly temporary basis with The Terriers hosting Liverpool the following night.
Liverpool left Leeds Road with both points meaning that not only did Arsenal have the advantage in terms of points, the 2-0 defeat left Huddersfield with an inferior goal average.
Arsenal did not relinquish top spot again.
