Arsenal Ban The Press From The AGM On This Day, 4th July 1932

It made the front page of the Daily Express in 1932, the media distinctly unimpressed by the ban from Arsenal’s AGM. This would a story that rumbled on for months, if not years, in the modern era. Except it was not a ban, just a simple misunderstanding. I can imagine the twinkle in his eye as he decided which ripping yarn to spin as an excuse.

And I suspect that there are more than a few current employees of the club who would like his successor to do the same.

  1. Some of the press were there.

“Who put them there is a mystery and exciting scenes occured when a shareholder tried to raise the question for discussion”

That “shareholder” was none other than Sir Henry Norris!
