Arsenal Trounce Rangers At Highbury On This Day, 5th August 1967

The pre-season friendly between the two clubs was more traditional than with their Glasgow rivals, Celtic. The relationship between Arsenal and Rangers was close, underlined by the purchase of shares by the Glaswegians when Arsenal were in financial difficulties in the early part of the 20th Century.

This match was notable for another reason; it was the first time that George Graham and Alex Ferguson locked horns in battle.
